Airbnb is just one sign of the real problem — over population. Quite a few decades ago population control was a hot topic because worldwide food was in short supply. But then along came the green revolution, and concern about out of control population growth went out the window.

But one huge problem remains — space. The earth of course is a finite space. Combine limited space with the conflict stemming from humankind’s destructive hardwired tribal impulse and it’s not hard to image the earth ending up as one gigantic refugee camp of miserably exploited peoples, or worse, as people, particularly poor people, continued to thoughtlessly multiply beyond habitable space.

Experiments with too many rats in a cage is a pretty gruesome affairs to observe.
