All creatures are programed to seek advantage by any means possible. So if whatever you are happen to already be on top, you will do all that's possible to stay on top. This is what makes true democracy such an up hill climb. Alas, democracy really goes against primitive, natural conditioning. Therefore the crude among us will alway fight for unfair advantage.
