Antifa physically battling neo-Nazis is surely the wrong way to combat hate. Without such optics the Neos have no power. But I disagree on one thing. The guys who join neo-Nazis groups in America today are exactly the same sorts of losers who joined the German Brown shirts in the 1930s. To think they are somehow any less dangerous than those losers of yesteryear is super naive. It doesn’t take smarts to become dangerous. It simply requires ruthless folks desperate to be counted as something.

Fortunately many Americans have been exposed to documentary footage of all the horrors that come about when these nut jobs reach critical mass within a country. Thus few are enticed to go down that path unless times become extraordinarily bad, which of course is Trump’s game.
