As I have written many times, the ultimate law of the universe is balance. At some point in time creation is always offset by destruction. We are now drowning in the byproducts of our fabulous technical success of the last several hundred years.

Moreover, because capitalism depends on constant growth it is just about out of runway as finite resources and space are being gobbled up by too many humans. Climate change is just one brick in the wall that humanity is crashing into.
