Change and improvement require an enhanced intellect. The base ego hates change and being found wrong. So somewhere along the line, Elizabeth, you must have picked up an abnormal amount of curiosity that lead to an enhanced intellect that caused you to move and and want a better life. Good for you.

Writing this brutally honest piece must have been a cathartic exercise for you. Like you I possessed much curiosity to want to know how life and the world really works. Unlike you I’m not particularly quick minded to put it generously. Thus even though in some ways I’ve been lucky, my life has been mainly a derivative affair. And though I wasn’t up to going to college I’m probably better read than 95% who have gone to college, so that not nothing.
