The well off could see past his thin populist veneer and knew he would push agendas that would add to their bottom lines.

The desperate, hoping against hope that his populist rhetoric would hold true, cheered him on wildly.

The clueless, addicted to Trump’s brand of reality TV and having no idea how TV relates to the real word, joyously gave him their hearts — and votes.

Those living in numbing boredom thought he would make for an entertaining president.

Those resentful of others thought that they could punish the “lucky” ones by electing Trump.

The silly ones voted for the Donald as a protest vote thinking it wouldn’t matter.

The borderline insane, which relate to his absurdities (think Breitbart consumers), stuck with one of their own.

Those robotic Republicans who would vote for the Devil if he had an R in front of his name did their thing.
