Ever since it became obvious that demographics were shifting toward minorities, the GOP has specialized in pandering to White xenophobes. The only thing that old line Republicans disliked at first about Trump was that he made that fact glaringly clear. But when Trump made it obvious that he was going to continue GOP policies of continuing to pass goodies to their rich benefactor mosts Republicans embraced the Donald.
