Everything you say, SF, is very true. And that is why you are a heavily credentialed pro and I will always be something of an amateur.

But these abilitites you lay out are totally dependent on basic underlying impulses and abilities — cognition and intellect.

For instance I’m loaded with creative intellect, the ability to see the big picture and to know how the dots need to be connected. On the other hand I possess quite limited cognitive powers. It is like I’m on the right road headed in the right direction, but the road is so impossibly rough that headway is maddeningly slow and eventually it simply becomes impossible to go on. (They say that my aunt dropped me on my head when I was a baby, bummer.)
