Feelings and emotions are such fleeting unstable entities, with impulses of love and hate teetering on a knife’s edge.
The reality of the universe is cold and uncaring, a reality that of course human ego instinctively wishes to reject. Thus we are want to a more positive, hopeful and poetic view of existance. It is of course a gross distortion of life and the universe, but if it helps get us though the day, why not?
The harsh reality of the universe is the universal law of probability balance. Simply put probability balance means that creation is always at some point in time offset by destruction — stars are born and stars die. And since we humans are a product of the universe we must adhere to its general laws.
Thus peace is offset by war, love offset by hate and our inventions doomed to destruction. No amount of positive energy spent by humanity can alter this basic law of the universe. Currently global warming and billions of megatons worth of nuclear weapons are awaiting the final offset of humanity’s positive endeavors.
