First off the notion of God is humankind's last measure of hope to combat a seemingly wildly random universe.

Yet, the ultimate law of the universe is balance. Stars are born and stars die. In other words creation is always at some point in time offset by destruction--balance--as when peace is offset by war and good with evil.

Thus bad things randomly seem to happen simply because of nature's brutal system of balance. A truth that certainly has no appeal to us mere mortals.

And because we are ego based creatures we say that we must be special when in fact as far as the universe is concerned we are no more special than a single blade of grass.

Once again this has no appeal to we humans bringing us back again to the notion that we are a special part of God's plan--a desperately conjured human hope vs. the harsh reality of nature's relentless system of balance.
