Here is a fun fact. The nation was not radically divided until Roger Ailes decided that there might be big money in pandering to the nation’s malcontents. Thus was born Fox News. Fox and the rest of the rightwing media scooped up the beforehand fragmented crazies into a single force and sent them over to the GOP where they became the new Republican base. Then along came the Donald to take charge, and, as they say, the rest is history.
