How Trump And The GOP Are Destroying America

Today in Politico Bruce Bartlett wrote a scathing article about the GOP and President Trump. He says that Trump is the result of 30 years of Republicans pandering to the lowest common denominator.

And now I say that with the Manchurian Candidate in the White House Russia could have no more powerful ally for bringing down America than Donald J. Trump. In cooperation with Vladimir Putin, Trump has taken control of a cadre of power hungry GOP buffoons backed by an army of cult following simpletons who know nothing of history nor of democracy, but are simply ecstatic to be sweep up as part of some great movement, to what end they care not. Simply to feel aligned with the master manipulator is enough to make their otherwise meaningless lives worthwhile.

And so this ilk claps and screams with joy as Trump, with rally style tweets and flourishes, demeans those of intellect and accomplishment (the evil elites), while under the table he shills for his own personal gain and the gain of his super rich buddies. And then there is the inexplicably self-deceived columnist David Brooks of the New York Times to consider. Now I have always liked Mr. Brooks. He is a mild mannered, right of center guy usually promoting common sense. But even he has admitted on numerous occasions that he has been wrong about Trump — the guy was an inconsequential gadfly who would never gain the Republican nomination, let alone win the presidency, was Mr. Brooks’ take.

And now Mr. Brooks has really become lost. He says of the Trump connection to Putin and Russia that there is no there there. I guess if one discounts the fact that the deadbeat Trump is totally financed by Putin’s oligarchical friends and that the Trump organization runs, via a complex association of shell companies, a colossal money laundering scheme on behalf of Putin Inc. you could say that there may be no connection. But then you would, also, have to overlook the fact that every foreign police scheme that Trump pushes is in lock step with Russia’s national interest, not ours. That is why the Russians worked tirelessly to undermine Hillary and are now still working on his behalf — Trump is virtually the vice president of Russia — no connection, indeed.

One of Putin’s primary goals is to destroy every semblance of democracy around the globe. With Trump as his master agent in the White House, the Russian leader’s intensions are all but assured to that end. Trump and the GOP operatives that support him are traitors. Therefore Trump and company must destroy Mueller before his investigations make that fact perfectly clear. Surely Mr. Mueller understands that he is committed to a literal life or death struggle — Russian America vs. free America.
