Humans aren’t all that complicated. They will take the best deal they think they can get, and some will romanticize it into much more than it is. Some will fail to commit because they are afraid they they might miss a better deal. Some will commit only because they are afraid that it’s the best deal they might ever get. Of course it is only years later that we understand the brutal reality of our unconscious maneuvering. Some get lucky in the process, and some never do.
