Humans will never reach Mars for the simple reasons that humans won’t be around long enough to get to the point where a Mars venture is possible.

When it comes to the universal law of probability balance time is running out for humanity. This law states that at some point in time creation is always offset by destruction — stars and born and stars die, peace is offset by war, etc.

For the last few centuries humankind has been on a rampage of technical creativity. The offset of all that creativity rests in underground silos and beneath the seas onboard submarines waiting quietly for one little technical or political glitch to let fly with a storm of nuclear extinction. Alas one cannot overcome the laws of nature.
