I doubt that Trump ever cared about becoming president or even thought he could win. He just as usual loved the limelight of the campaign.

Before when things got bad in his business the criminal set would bail him out. Now as president when he tries to save his neck by taking the low road, it just leads to indictments. So now he has no choice but to try and go full dictator to save himself. His chances I would say are 50/50.
