I get the anti celebrity thing. I mean especially considering the train wreck of the celebrity Trump presidency.

But being a celebrity is where the similarity ends. Oprah is articulate, smart, empathic, loves to learn new things, and she really would fill her administration with good people meant to serve the nation not her. More importantly good people would be happy to serve her administration and not flee in droves. In other words she is every good thing that the Donald is not.

To be a great president one need not be a veteran politician. The important thing is inherent sound judgment. This simply means the ability to pick those who are of sound judgment and experience to lean on, and to embrace the tons of info available from government institutions, and then unlike Trump have the ability, as much as is humanly possible, to understand cause and effect upon which to make independent hard choices.

No, Oprah would not be my first choice, but, still, she would be a darn fine choice, a thousand times better than our current occupant of the White House.
