I grew up in the Christian tradition and love the philosophy of Jesus, which the Christian right often acts as if the teachings of Jesus never existed, but once I became deeply immersed in history and politics religious dogma became just plain silliness.

I find it baffling how supposedly sophisticated, well learned folks can get all trangled up in religious gibberish. Truth should be truth, and that is not found in pushing the ancient notion of sky Gods. I just don't get it, Napp.

Perhaps the greatest book ever written is not the Bible but rather that little gem of a book, "The True Believer," by Eric Hoffer."

There is one particularly interest passage: people pray not so much for their daily bread as they do their daily deception.
