I wonder how much any of this would affect the hard core Trump supporter? I would bet that if Trump said that, yes, he cut a deal with Putin because he felt that him being president was better for the world than Hillery his followers would agree and see it as nothing bad. And that my friends is the depth of the twisted Trump effect.
