If, Joe, you have read many of my pieces you will know that the way I see the human mind organized is that the primitive ego is the base mind. It is where such thing as the tribal impulse and other base impulses (emotions) are situated. Only as intellect is enhanced either because of curiosity, wide experiences or formal education can primitive ego impulses be overridden.

Thus you see a general hostility rise up between the broadly sophisticated (enhanced intellect) and the ego primitive Joe six pack. Politicians and demagogs like Trump always aim for the primitive ego. Thus the hostility hurled at the so called elites by MAGA hats. The primitive ego cares not a wit about facts and truth. It only cares about prevailing at all costs.
