I’m always amazed how folks look right through the most basic law of the universe — probability balance. That is to say that all things creative and good must have a destructive and bad offset. I supose it is the human bias of hope to prevail anyway that blinds us to the negative potential.

Now that doesn’t mean humanity should quite moving ahead, but at least one might be wise to try and anticipate and prepare for the inevitable negative offsets of progress.
