Indeed, democracy was a wild, wonderful and noble experiment. It is what developed intellects should want to aspire to be a part of. Unfortunately humans, like all higher creatures, are rules by primitive emotions. We are conditioned to exploit every opportunity to our advantage within a tribal level setting--conditioned to resist those of other tribes. Sadly the bully chief is our hero. So much so that even a posturing moron like Donald Trump looks good to many folks.
