It is a kind of kick the cat syndrome. You know, when the boss gives you a hard time you might be afraid to fire back at him so you go home all pissed off and kick the cat to relieve your frustration (sorry cat lovers).

With capitalism, since you know you are trapped way down low in the system, you try and make lemonade out of a lemon of a situation. Thus you defend capitalists and decry socialists, which in this country at least sort of puts you on the winning side. If you can’t beat it, you join it virtually.

Okay, so the cat analogy is a bit off center. But you get the transference part, right?
