It is not all that complicated. Roughly 35 percent of Americans would rather blowup our experiment in democracy than live in a muticultual democracy--the primitive tribal impulse at work here.

Republicans along with right wing media saw their advantage with the anti democratic forces that Trump also realized served his egocentric desires.

And so we ended up with an anti democratic, Trump "cult cancer"in our political midst.
