It is not so much that rational folks hate Christians, or any other religion for that matter, it is more that we are saddened to see folks waste so much time and energy in delusional thinking and activity.

If such folks would spend a little more time contemplating why they feel a need to spend so much time polishing their golden key to fantasyland, they might better find their way through the real world.

Of course there is a reason why millions upon millions of folks bury themselves in religion — it is part of the survival impulse emanating from the primitive ego.

Nature has endowed all creatures and their offspring with an fanatical will to survive at all costs — the genetic mandate. And this impulse is so powerful that nonthinking humans are driver to want to somehow be extended beyond their physical limitations. Thus the concept of an afterlife, heaven and God or gods is manifested to satisfy this basic impulse.

And because we are taking about basic survival here, it has caused various religions often times to be highly antagonistic of each other, seeing other contrary dogmas as posing a threat to their own set of beliefs, and as such setting up excuses for hatred, violence and war down though history.
