It might have to be the other way around, Allan, where to survive the Republicans are eventually going to have to put all the blame on the Donald. Also I have sometimes thought that part of Trump’s strategy was to destroy the old line GOP. After all he already has the party’s new found base so he might just as well liquidate the party heads, and form his new Trump Party.

But that might be way too much complex thinking on my part. If Trump fails to become supreme ruler, he’s going to jail and his business and political empire are going into the dumpster. The question is who is going to inherit his {the GOP political base) if our democracy holds?
