It would seem that dark matter has little or nothing to do with what we now think of as matter. For instance suppose that what is thought of as dark matter is actually another kind of gravity coming from a parallel universe effecting our own universe. Thus there would most likely be no possible means of either “directly” detecting or measuring the phenomena, sort of like my own pet theory of probability balance.
