Laura, you have just written an excellent, from the heart, analysis of why folks voted for Trump. But if you are a student of history and politics like me you know that people who voted for Trump got it all wrong.

Over the years it has been the Democrats that have been pushing for the things that benefit the average citizen like social security and Medicare, and it has been the Republicans trying to take those things away.

Trump is just the worst (cruder) version of Republican. I’m always perplexed that folks fall for such an obvious con jobs like a Trump. But as I commented to an article by Hillary: You would have made a far better president that the Donald, but you couldn’t resist the temptation to play footsie with Wall Street, so now your’re not. Hillary wasn’t the demagogue here, but she was tone deaf to people’s fears and Trump who is the demagogue walked right in.
