Libertarians love to equate their philosophy with good old American freedom. In reality, however, libertarianism is simply an excuse to allow for the worst form of Darwinian, predatory capitalism, an invitation for the rich and powerful to plunder the general public.

The whole point of democracy is to have a form of government, a government for and by the people, that will inhibit this sort of exploitation. And, alas, it is because corporate America has managed to buy up our government for its own benefit that the people are so discontent.
