Like much of the hopeful mainline media, which I have normally always admired, I think you are grasping for straws on this one. Sure there was no guarantee that the narcissistic Hitler would be successful in grabbing total power either. But both Hitler and Trump’s inner-circle are cut from the same cloth and work from the same phycological playbook of hate and division.

The only difference is that America has had entrenched democratic institutions for a much longer period than Germany had at the time of Hitler’s rise to ultimate power, so hopefully Trump will have a much more difficult time of it trying to be Mr. All-mighty. But the existential threat of that remains at a white heat.
