Mandatory voting is almost as nuts as voter suppression. Can you imagine what a cluster fuck it would be if voter suppression tactics were still in effect when voting was made mandatory.

I can see a plan where election day was a paid holiday and workers were paid a bonus for voting.

No need to force millions of folks who have no interest in current events or politics into going mindlessly through the motion of checking boxes.
