My question is why did it take Trump to decide that the Republican Party was not for you? Ever since Nixon the Republicans have been playing Trump light, pandering to former Dixiecrats to gain a winning edge.

Trump’s message is not new, it’s just louder and in your face different. This is why constructive, moderate Republicans have been bailing out of the GOP for many years.
