Neither pure conservatism nor pure socialism are good systems of governance. They both end up stagnating enterprise from the extremes. Relatively pure socialism was attempted in Russia and Cuba with not much good resulting.

Conservatism on the other hand took the market crash of 1929 and turned it into the Great Depression of the 1930’s. Only WWII forced a liberal style priming of the economic pump to break the depression.

Moreover, conservative principles have had a full tryout in Kansas by Governor Brownback with dreadful results — near bankruptcy. As one of the better Republican Presidents said — trickle down economics is voodoo economics.

And since conservatives in California have been expelled from government, the state has gone from bust to boom.

Economies are demand driven by money in the pockets of average citizens, not sitting in foreign bank accounts of a few wealthy.
