Nicely articulated, Mr. Willis. In what I have termed the universal law of probability balance, positive, creative forces are always offset by negative, destructive forces — stars are born and stars die. Conservatism often shows up on the destructive side of this ultimate equation.
The same positive negative balance can be seen in man’s tribal impulse. On the plus side, the Tribal impulse causes folks of like kind to ban together for the common good. The bitter offset is that it also causes folks to hate and fear those unlike them.
Also, because of the universal law of probability balance it is impossible to escape negative offsets of any kinds. Thus hostilities and wars are never ending events.
