No, he would not be my uncle, Jay. My father and his brothers and sisters were famers from the Hancock’s Bridge area of Salem County. But I would think that there is a ninety five percent chance that we are related.

I did send my DNA to ancestry. com. It turns out that I am 70% English and a combination of other European stock. But what sort of suprised me was that I’m 2% Jewish — cool. I suspect that comes down on my mothers side of the family, probably through a relative that fought with a New York Engineers regiment in the Civil War, Charles Lindiman. I have a signed pass for him dated August 4, 1863 at Morris Island South Carolina. This would have been about the time of the Union attack on the Rebel Fort Wagner.
