Look, Steve boy, I love you man. You are a great American patriot, but just as at first you got it wrong with Sarah Palin for McCain’s VP, pushing a third party centrist candidate like Howard Schultz for fear that the Democrats will go too far left on their choice to run against Trump is pure nonsense.

I know that deep down in your heart you want to revive a center right party like the old GOP, but that time has gone never to return. That which you picture in your mind as being far left is now the sweet spot of the political center of America. Europe, Canada and the rest of the developed world have passed us by. And now Americans are demanding such things as healthcare for all like the rest of the advanced nations.

A person’s primitive ego hates change, and your mindset has tricked you into thinking that it’s still 1979, Steve. Your guy would be perfect in that era, and, thus, he will syphon off Democratic voters that still think the same. There is no way that a third party candidate that is less of a nutjob than Trump will not hand the Donald a second term.

Come on, Steve, I know you mean well, but this is just crazy.
