Quite right. Since the human ego hates change of any kind let alone warp speed change that has to drive folks nuts. What I have done personally to slow the world down, yet not ignore it completely is simply to resist getting a smart phone or getting caught up in Facebook world.

Of course were I a young person today that would be virtually social suicide. It is one of the advantages of being a very senior citizen. Who cares? I get all the social interaction I need here on Medium.
