Risk avoidance is not because of external factors like Teachers, employers or mentors, though they certainly can magnify that limitation. The basic primitive ego whose mandate is survival above all else is not favorable toward risk taking. It would require an enhanced intellect to rise above the primitative ego to take calculated risks. But, however, to rise only a little above ego can send one into the hopeless jaws of the casino world.
