Since "God" is the ultimate, all knowing power, he she, it would have known in advance the potential of its creation. Thus it is responsible for the resulting mess. And don't try to weasel out with the free will bit.

Getting back to reality, the universe has always been a violent place that most humans are driven to create all sorts of diversions not to have to think about that brutal fact.

It is pretty hard to move forward without hope. Thus the created notion of a loving God in the face of all that refutes such a fantasy persists.

The True Belive syndrome like all in nature is a two edged sword. Sometimes it helps one get through the day, and sometimes it lashes out against the other.

But i'm sure you will hold fast to your Sunday School teachings. Indeed, it sometimes is the perfect answer to life's harsh challenges.

God bless.
