Sorry, Umair, I can’t quite agree with you on this one. Fascist is more of a European term for evil. Down through American history the terms you disparage — populists, nativists and nationalist — all carry extreme negative connotations no less damning than fascist.

Moreover the mainstream media (elites) is forced to bend over backward so as not to look like just another version of crazy Fox News. Yes, the adults in the room still have to function as adults even when the kids are acting in ways that make it difficult.
