The Democrat’s Ace In The Hole Is Still Bolton

The war hawk John Bolton says that he will testify if subpoenaed. Okay, more precisely he said would testify in the Senate if subpoenaed. Setting aside that little matter of where he is willing to testify, why don’t House Democrats give it a whirl now? That’s what a lot of political pundits are asking and of course the reason is timing, man, timing. Bolton’s testimony is the only leverage those trying to save our democracy have left prior to the 2020 election — and that’s only if Trump doesn’t gain enough power to cancel that sacred right altogether..

I mean, don’t you think it best to see exactly what tricks Senator McConnell pulls out of his butt before trying to unleash the Bolton bomb. If as expected McConnell disallows witness testimony then the House can move swiftly to upstage the Senate with a Bolton subpoena and hopefully his testimony.

This will throw shade on the Republican sham proceedings, and make the McConnell/Graham circus a sillier sideshow than it already is. This juxtapose, if things work out to near perfection, will make for some great campaign ammunition for the Democrats. Besides, who knows what other self-incriminating stunts Trump will barf up during these potentially contrasting proceedings?
