The Donald’s Ego Has Lead Him Straight Into Bernie’s Bear Trap

Mr. “wonderful,” not the one on Shark Tank but rather a bigger ego, Donald J. Trump, has finally been snared. Shooting off its mouth before engaging its brain, as usual, the Donald blurted out to Bernie’s challenge of a debate that he would be glad to take on the Senator.

Of course this would not be to the advantage of Mr. Trump. But what is the poor schmuck to do now? Everyday that he drags his feet on formally committing to a debate is another day that Bernie can work him over as a chicken coward — not good for Trump’s phony image of invincibility.

Twisting and turning in Bernie’s trap is going to rub the Donald raw, particularly if the press begins to badger him about it. This is probably something Trump can’t escape by making one of his typically outrageous, change the subject remarks.

How will this affect Hillary? It is hard to say. The Donald being forced to fight off Bernie might take some heat off of Mrs. Clinton. On the other hand seeing Bernie have Trump by the crotch just proves Bernie’s point that he is the stronger Democrat to take on the Republican blowhard. In any event, Trump has likely at long last been had.
