The “good people” under 50 might understand some of the problems of this country dealing with race, but damn few are focused on the fascist problems of mid 20 century Europe. Average Americans have a maximum historical time horizon of maybe thirty years at best. After that its bits and pieces in a fog that most likely doesn’t include fascism.

So expecting the good guys to be poised and ready to take on Trump’s fascist ways is a pipe dream. They just see Trump as this crude, blowhard racist pig, or if they mistakenly think that he wants to help them, they overlook his vulgar tweets and idiotic posturing and love him.
