Rumors ate flying about that Roger Ailes, CEO Of Fox News, is being let go as a result of sexual harassment charges. If that’s the case then Roger must have been a really very bad boy with the ladies at work. I mean this guy is Fox News. And not only does he issues the daily talking points for the entire conservative (write-wing) new media, Republican pols don’t utter a peep until they receive Ailes’ themes for the day.
There has never been a political media operative like Ailes — ever. He has not only made Fox the most watched cable “new” program in the nation, he has also crafted the careers of all the top right-wing super stars from Rush Limbaugh to Bill O’Reilly to Megyn Kelly and Sean Hannity.
First the right gets hit with the Trump takeover. Now the minister of right-wing propaganda may be on thin ice. Is the second coming near? Is this the end of the world?
I guess we can expect to see news executives and Fox entertainment personalities flying about, looking for new homes. Some say Rupert Murdock, the owner of this entertainment mess, wants to turn Fox into a real news outfit like the SKY network in Europe. Boy if that happens where are America’s rubes going to get their daily disinformation TV fix?
In any event, it is hard to believe that Roger Ailes will completely vanish from the media scene any time soon. It is hard to kill off an institution.
