The Man Who Assured That Donald Trump Would Be An Asshole

Though he was in his prime in the middle of the last century, many of you who are politically astute or of some historically bent will either recall or have heard of the infamous Senator Joseph “Joe” McCarthy. He of the, I have here in my hand a list of card carrying communists who have infiltrated the government, unions and Hollywood. Yes, that fear mongering Senator from Wisconsin from whose devious deeds of ruining peoples lives for political gain comes the term McCarthyism, meaning those who would slander and accuse without just cause or evidence.

Riding shotgun next to McCarthy in the uproarious Congressional, anti communist’s witch-hunts of the early 1950’s was one Roy Cohn. Cohn, who was every bit as sleazy as McCarthy, was the Senator’s legal assassin who could be found regularly feeding poisonous bits of information into McCarthy’s ear during his reputation busting hearings.

Roy Cohn was admired by the unscrupulous and feared and hated by the rest. He was of a ruthless win at all cost personality. As a young businessman during the 1970’s Trump was drawn to the “Devil” Cohn, as they say, like a mouth to a flame.

Indeed, Trump was an enthusiastic absorber of Cohn’s abhorrent teachings — do or say (lie like hell) whatever it takes to win without remorse and take no prisoners.
