The odds are poor that humanity will last until 2030. In fact it is only by incredible dumb luck that the world has managed to so far avoid a nuclear holocaust. As doomsday weapons continue to expand around the globe chances for a fatal tecnical malfunction that will trip off a massive nuclear exchange or a political misjudgment to the same end grows by the day.

A falling empire or global warming are the least of our worries.
