The Question Keeps Being Asked Over And Over Again — Why Do People Hate Hillary?
This most definitely requires a two-part answer. First of course is Hillary her self. She is smart, often effective, compassionate, aggressive but sometime quite brittle. If men hate her most, it might be because she reminds them of their own know it all, bossy mom when they were a child, or because at times she resembles the strict, scary teacher they had in grade school, in other words she reminds them of the bitch in their early lives. As for some traditional women they see Hillary as being uppity, doing things outside of the designated female role. It also should be noted that if you ever see the possibility of running for president of the United States, don’t go giving speeches to Wall Street fat cats for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The other huge factor is the massive political realignment that has taken place over the last sixty year. It used to be that xenophobic, reactionary misfits were pretty much evenly divided between the two major political parties. But starting with the civil rights movement of the 1960s, then amplified by the political bomb throwing of Newt Gingrich when he became speaker of the house and the rise of conservative talk radio and Fox news, then finally topped off by the political climb of one nasty Donald Trump, fundamentalists types moved to the Republican side of the political divide, leaving moderates and progressives generally on the Democratic side, with a number of extremist meandering back and forth between the far right and the far left.
And so with the nation’s negative forces pretty much united on the right side of the political divide, they were now, as a united front, able to aim tremendous amounts of vitriol upon moderates and progressive on the other side, which currently is symbolized by Hillary Clinton. And of course no one likes a looser, and since Hillary did technically lose via the Electoral College, despite the fact that she received more votes for president than anyone else in history (yes she did Donald), she is still tagged as a looser.
And so not only are the misfits on the right united in their hatred of her, but so, too, are a significant number in her own party and those generally on the left side of the national political divide. The bottom line is that she may be smart, rational, highly informed and well meaning, but, still, she somehow lacks the necessary political instincts at the critical moment to win, as they say, the big one. And that may be the biggest reason of all why she is so unloved.
