The Second Amendment needs to be rewritten, modernized and clarified. Get rid of the militia part. That was written for a different purpose and time having to due with arming the people for collective action.

I’m all for citizens having the right to own fire arms for protection and sport. But just as important who can own fire arms and what type of weapons allowed should be clearly spelled out.

For instance I own three very different types of gun for which there could easily be written rules to allow all three, and I believe any other reasonable type of gun including semiautomatic weapons of many kinds.

An example of one thing I wouldn’t want to see is weapons capable of firing (outside of law enforcement and the military) more than, say, ten rounds at a clip. Prhaps a dozen or so airtight rules should suffice to significantly improve NOT END the slaughter of innocents.
