The survival impulse springs forth from the primitive, base ego. And thus unsophisticated folks that are pretty much all ego with little intellectual enhancement like Trump and his followers can come up with some quite inexplicable ideologies and rationales. In other words their desire to survive is so overpowering that they will latch on to any crazy notion where they will somehow be able to carry on even beyond death — in some magical heaven with Jeus when it comes to Christians. But of course they would not want Jesus’ descendants moving into their community.
