The Tea Party Convention

One wonders where elite Republicans will be hanging out and what they will be fiddling with during the Trump lead Tea Party convention in Cleveland this summer? I suspect many are now busy booking overseas vacations, looking for reasonably safe havens to enjoy themselves while hiding out from the mayhem happening back home. I suppose many establishment, Wall Street types are hoping that lending the party to Trump’s Brown Shits in waiting is just a temporary thing.

Of course it is sometimes hard to figure out what is worse, the one percent who rig the system for them alone or the Tea Party fanatics who want to burn down the system with a Trump blowtorch.

It seems like a very strange time, but then I guess it is always seems like a very strange and dangerous time. In this regard, the year eighteen-sixty-one comes to mind when half the United States was feed up with being the United States and decided to take it slaves and go home. In fact it seems at times like a lot of folks remain in that spirit “a way down south in the land of Dixie.”

Perhaps if Trump can’t win over most of the country he can at least become the next Jefferson Davis and resurrect the Confederacy from his Florida capital. I’m sure Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, a staunch Trump supporter, would gladly serve as his vice-president. Jeff has always acted as though he was serving in a pre Civil War government.

So good luck conservative Republicans with whatever political entity it is that you metastasize into.
