The Truth The Whole Truth Nothing But The Truth So Help Me God

There is a lot of talk these days about truth. Is there such a thing as a perfect truth, which a clear majority feels must be fact based? But then there are those who comically claim that there is also such a thing as alternative facts, which in fact are just plain lies — Trumpian facts.

Getting down to basics, at our most primitive ego level of mindset there is no such thing as objective truth for any of us. Truth is whatever tickles our emotional fancy or that which we perceive (perceive being the key word here) as promoting our advantage and survival. Conversely it is our intellect that comprehends objective facts and thus truth.

So for those like our dear President Trump and his most ardent supporters that are possessed of a substantially stunted intellect, it is impossible for them to knowingly lie. Indeed for them truth is simply what excites their passionate desires. This is why Trump’s lawyers will never ever allow him to be interviewed by Mueller’s team. Lacking a developed intellect the Donald has no way in the world of knowing what is truth. Such a deposition would be a factual suicide mission (perjury) for the poor guy, and his lawyers as clearly expressed by them in Bob Woodward’s compelling book, Fear,know it.

So gaging by the polls of those who strongly support our lying, flimflam president, about 40% of the citizenry lack objective reality — truth. Unfortunate playing to this innocent crowd is easy money for the charlatans of the right-wing media, a lucrative game that seriously threatens our fragile democracy and a gambit that fits right in with the Republican agenda of enriching their wealthy benefactors at the expense of average citizens.
